When I try installing ubuntu the screen goes black and says "cannot display video mode".

I don't know what is wrong i have tried it twice now and got the same thing. I have checked the disk for errors and none have appeared what is wrong?

Does the screen you are using

Does the screen you are using support the video mode Linux is trying to push down it? When you try installing Linux choose the Safe Video mode
