Just loaded Ubuntu 8.10 on 'home made' desktop PC after splitting 350g hard drive into two partitions of approx. 150g each. Can't figure out how to connect wireless Broadband although it works great with Vista Home Basic on first partition.
Any help greatly appreciated.

First, find out what wireless chip we are dealing with. From a Terminal issue the command: lspci. That will list the pci devices. What does it say for Network Adapter?
