New Video Tutorial: How to install Ubuntu 8.10 with Windows in five easy steps

I promised to have some video tutorials explaining the process of installing Linux on your PC a couple of months back and I didn't have much time to actually get round to it until now. So without further ado, here they are!

Over the last couple of weeks I've put together a 5 part video which lasts around 10 minutes and I've uploaded it to youtube for your streaming pleasure. The videos demonstrate all of the steps involved with installing Ubuntu Linux 8.10 onto your PC. The video assumes that you already have a copy of Microsoft Windows installed and that you want to keep Windows on your PC so that you can 'dual-boot' Ubuntu (eg, start either Linux or Windows when you switch on the computer).

I am quite sure that there are literally hundreds of videos out there that show the same sort of stuff, but I've never seen any that I was entirely satisfied would be appropriate for the intended audience of the Ultimate Linux Newbie Guide, so here it is. They will be integrated into Chapter 5: Installing Ubuntu Linux. In the next few weeks I hope to have a follow-up video coming out that demonstrates how to get to grips with your new system, what software is included by default and how to use it and also how to download and install your own software.

As always, your comments are welcome and if you have some good videos on youtube or elsewhere that you think would benefit the ULNG by being featured here then please send us the link.
