Microsoft Ubuntu available at Dell today ;)

It had to happen sooner rather than later! Dell presents Microsoft Operating System: Ubuntu 8.04 :)

Well, almost. It looks like Dell screwed up on their website. You can see from the screenshot image of their website that Dell provides a Microsoft Operating system, which just happens to be Ubuntu 8.04.

On a more serious note, it is a shame that this sort of stuff keeps happening in the Linux world. Manufacturers just keep getting their marketing wrong. ASUS, well known for selling Linux netbooks are busy selling us the tagline 'It's better with Windows'. If you phone up the likes of Dell or HP and ask them about Linux, you will either get someone telling you to buy Microsoft Windows or more likely than not, someone saying they have never heard of lyenucks. The PC market en masse still hasn't woken up to the fact that there is a choice out there. It's happening, but still at a rate far slower than most freedom loving Linux users would like I'd imagine!

So, badger a Dell salesman today about your favourite OS and whilst you are at it, get them to sort out that website, it's still live showing the wrong details as of 17:00 on 6 July.
