Chapter 5: Manually Partitioning A Hard DriveIf you want to install Linux on a hard drive that is occupied by another operating system such as Windows, or perhaps you prefer to set up your hard drive manually then you should follow this rough guide. The procedure is a little different for most people, because no two hard drives are set up the same. If you are using this guide to set up Linux and Windows on the same drive, then it is assumed that you have already resized Windows on the drive to allow space for Linux by the use of QTParted or similar tools.
